Death of the son of ex-president of Ukraine confirmed
The Ukrainian Party of the Regions has confirmed information about the death of the son of ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. The political council of the party has expressed condolences to the parents, the widow and the son of the deceased.
On March 20, the life of our colleague, a former people’s deputy of the Party of the Regions, was tragically cut short. He was one of the youngest deputies of the Ukrainian parliament under Viktor Yanukovych.

- Russian and Ukrainian media reported on the death of Viktor Yanukovich’s son on March 22, citing unofficial sources. According to the reports, Yanukovich’s son, also named Viktor Yanukovich, died when his minivan broke the ice and drowned in Lake Baikal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested official information from Russia, but has not yet received an answer.
- Regional rescue services reported that on March 20, a minivan fell through the ice on Lake Baikal. The driver was killed in the accident, while several passengers survived. The rescue services did not report the name of the deceased.
