Russia's Defense Ministry reportedly plans new task force to expose ‘falsifications’ of history

The Russian Ministry of Defense is planning to launch a special task force in 2016 that will conduct research exposing so-called "falsifications of military history," according to Interfax's sources in the Ministry.

"We're talking about the creation of a small research unit, which is now being worked out in the Ministry's Central Archive," an official told Interfax. The unit is expected to begin work in early 2016.

The Defense Ministry reportedly plans to hire young specialists in history, sociology, and other fields to focus on work about the Second World War.

Last weekend, a high-ranking general in the Russian Joint Chiefs told reporters that the Defense Ministry plans to create two new research tasks forces to complement the eight already in existence. These special units are designed for specific kinds of research, according to the needs of the military.
