Russian ‘Taxpayer Party’ suspected of promoting tax evasion
The Attorney General's Office is running an audit on the legality of activities carried out by the Russian Taxpayer Party.
State Duma deputy Anatoly Vyborny sent a request to the Attorney General's Office in December 2015 asking for a review of the Taxpayer Party.
According to Vyborny, Taxpayer Party leader Evgeny Sivkov “openly promotes methods and procedures to evade paying taxes through concealment and unfair optimization of payments intended for the state budget, and also elaborates ways to avoid responsibility when receiving illegal tax benefits.”
Sivkov's actions display “signs of obstructing” the government's efforts to supervise and control the adherence to proper tax regulations, and signs of extremism, Vyborny says.
