Gunman opens fire on passersby in Rostov, before being killed by police

A man opened fire on passersby from a five-story apartment building in Rostov, earlier today, before police raided the home and killed the shooter. According to police, the gunman also shot at them, after a failed effort to negotiate his surrender. One officer was injured. The shooter was killed when police returned fire.

It remains unclear what the man's motive was for firing a gun at passersby. There were no other reported injuries or deaths.
