Hackers say they broke into email and WhatsApp accounts belonging to pro-Kremlin TV presenter Dmitry Kiselev

Hacker group Shaltai-Boltai, Russian for “Humpty-Dumpty,” has allegedly broken into email and WhatsApp accounts belonging to staunchly pro-Kremlin TV presenter Dmitry Kiselev.

The hackers say they have created an archive of all correspondence from Kiselev's WhatsApp account and two email accounts—Kiselev's and his wife's, reports newspaper Gazeta.ru.

The bulk of the stolen correspondence relates to Kiselev's job as a TV presenter. Specifically, this means all of Kiselev's projects relating to news agency RIA Novosti's Rossiya Segodnya, and all his correspondence with the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

The total volume of data stolen is said to be around 11GB.

This is not the first high profile hacking carried out by Shaltai-Boltai. Last year, the group published documents apparently from top managers of Russia's state-owned enterprises. The documents related to efforts to create a “private internet” for high level members of Russian state-owned enterprises.

In 2014, Shaltai-Boltai claimed to have hacked Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's Twitter account.
