Russian lawmakers introduce a bill making it possible to levy tolls on cars entering city centers

The Duma’s transport committee has introduced a bill that would allow regional and municipal authorities to regulate road traffic by levying tolls on cars entering city centers.

According to the Duma committee, the law would “ensure the smooth movement of traffic and minimize time spent on driving.” The legislation would also pave the way for paid entry into the center of Moscow, committee deputy Michael Bryachka said.

The first reading the draft law will occur on June 7, 2016.
