Truck falls off bridge and onto railway tracks in Russia's Sverdlovsk region

Last night, a truck fell off a bridge and onto railway tracks in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region. The incident occurred on the Yekaterinburg–Rezh–Alapaevsk railway route.

The Iveco vehicle broke through the parapet and fell onto the railway line below, where its cabin caught on fire. Russia’s firefighting service says the blaze was successfully extinguished within three minutes.

The truck’s driver sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized in Rezh.

Train traffic was temporarily halted, but resumed by 6 a.m. Moscow time.
