Russia's reigning political clown says he could be Donald Trump's ancient relative
At a characteristically amusing press conference earlier today, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the long-time reigning political clown of the Russian parliament, declared that he might be an ancient relative of Donald Trump, the US presidential candidate whose campaign antics have earned him a reputation that some critics say resembles Zhirinovsky's.
“I sent my [samples] to an American laboratory for analysis, and my genealogy includes President Lyndon Johnson and two US vice presidents [...] If you look at Donald Trump's genealogy, maybe you'd find some direct relatives—like, from the same clan that was scattered all across the world 10,000 years ago. He evokes a certain sympathy in me,” Zhirinovsky told reporters.
