Russia's Paralympic Committee used to display a portrait of the committee's president. It does not anymore.

The employees of Russia's Paralympic Committee (RPC) removed a portrait of Philip Craven, the president of the International Paralympic Committee, from its office wall after the country's national team was banned from participating at the Paralympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in September.

A photograph of the wall without Craven's portrait was uploaded to instagram by Natalia Tedjetova, who works in the same building as the RPC. (The photo has since been removed.) She told Meduza that Craven's portrait used to hang on the wall among the portraits of other members of the Paralympic movement, snapshots from performances, pictures of Paralympic athletes, and images from various ceremonies.

Now, instead of the portrait, there is a piece of paper with the inscription: "Here used to hang a photograph with the distinguished President of the IPC, Sir Philip Craven."
