Ukrainian prosecutors say they have collected 800 volumes of evidence against Russian officials
The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine has prepared 800 volumes worth of material with criminal accusations against Russian officials and military personnel, says Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko. The Russian authorities and the armed forces have been accused of "unleashing and conducting [...] a war of aggression" against Ukraine.
The materials in the volumes concern events that took place in February 2014. According to Lutsenko, Ukrainian investigators interviewed more than 1,400 victims and 2,000 witnesses, and conducted more than 1,800 forensic examinations.
Lutsenko has promised to present the results of the investigation on September 7 at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense.
