Pregnant, elderly, and disabled, Mr. Meeseeks from ‘Rick and Morty’ returns to the Moscow subway
Mr. Meeseeks, the blue, vanishing creature from the animated series “Rick and Morty,” has appeared on the window of a train car in the Moscow subway, where someone has replaced the standard stickers calling on passengers to surrender seats to people with special needs.
Muscovite Evgeniya Barmina first wrote about the Meeseeks stickers on October 25, photographing the window in a train car on the subway’s green line. In the stickers, Mr. Meeseeks is depicted as an elderly man, a disabled person, a man with a child, and a pregnant man.
It’s unknown who’s responsible for the stickers. People commenting on Barmina’s Facebook post have speculated that it’s a viral campaign by the city of Moscow, complaining that government money may have been spent on the project.
Earlier this year, unknown persons carved Mr. Meeseeks into a bas-relief inside Moscow’s Belorusskaya subway station. The image was quickly removed.
