Russia records highest daily increase in coronavirus cases since January 2021

On Monday morning, October 4, Russia’s anti-coronavirus headquarters reported that 25,781 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours. This is the highest daily increase the country has seen since January 2, 2021, when Russia reported 26,301 new coronavirus cases.

According to official statistics, more than 7.6 million coronavirus cases have been registered in Russia since the start of the pandemic.

Also on Monday, health authorities reported 883 deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This comes after Russia reported a record-breaking daily death toll of 890 coronavirus patients on Sunday, October 3.

According to official data, Russia has recorded 210,801 coronavirus fatalities since the start of the pandemic.
