Referendum on entering Russia to be held in occupied part of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region from 23 to 27 September
The occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine will hold a referendum on joining the Russian Federation from 23 to 27 September 2022, reports the Russia-appointed “head” of the region's administration Yevhen Balytskyi.

“Today, I signed a decree on conducting a referendum regarding the territorial affiliation of the Zaporizhzhia region. It will take place from 23 to 27 September,” Balytskyi said.
He added that he had also signed a decree on forming “volunteer battalions” of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Earlier today, the “public movement ‘Together with Russia’” asked Balytskyi to conduct a referendum on joining the Russian Federation “as soon as possible”.
The Donetsk and Luhansk “people’s republics” and the Kherson region made similar statements about holding referendums on the same dates.
