Enlistment officers set up fire alarm in flats block to hand out draft cards in Vladivostok

Newsbox24 has published surveillance camera footage from Vladivostok where a group of enlistment officers set up a fire alarm.

The residents of the house have reported that this was the way to lure them out of their apartments in order to hand out draft cards. This, however, did not work, and the officers simply glued the draft cards to apartment doors.

In another block, a man wearing a military uniform came in through the window and let his colleagues in afterwards; Primorye Online shared a video of the incident. None of the residents received their draft cards.

Russia’s Defence Ministry says failing to appear at the draft office is punishable by a fine of 500 to 3,000 rubles only (€9-53). Attempting to avoid mobilisation after visiting the draft office is punishable by up to 6 months in jail.
