Vologda activist has house searched over ‘fake news about Russian army’ charges

Yevgeny Domozhirov, an activist from Vologda, has had his house searched over “fake news about the Russian army” charges, he reports on his Telegram.

Domozhirov is a former Vologda Region Assembly MP. He also previously worked as a coordinator for the local office of Alexey Navalny and as an editor-in-chief for SOTAVision.

“My Vologda apartment is being searched. The worst thing is that my mother-in-law who recently had a stroke and is in a critical condition is currently in the apartment. These bastards knew they wouldn’t physically find me there, but did it anyway,” he wrote.

He has no more information as of now, and cannot reach his mother-in-law on the phone at the moment.

Domozhirov is currently in Poland. He left Russia with his wife and five children in May and said he made this decision due to pressure from the Russian regime. He was put on the federal wanted list in October.

As Domozhirov puts it, the reason behind the persecution was his posts published between 14 July and 18 August “aimed at forming a negative attitude towards the actions of Russia’s army”.
