Mass burial site marked with PMC Wagner symbols and Russian flags discovered in Novosibirsk — Tayga.info
Russian media outlet Tayga.info reports that its journalists have discovered a mass burial site marked with PMC Wagner symbols and Russian flags in the Russian city of Novosibirsk.
According to the journalists of Tayga.info, over 200 graves are located at the Gusinobrodkoye cemetery, as per what the local residents said.
“One of the sections of the cemetery is used for graves with identical crosses installed on them, on which the men’s dates of birth and death are indicated (mostly the end of 2022 and the first months of 2023). Most of them are decorated with wreaths which the media previously linked to PMC Wagner. Some of the graves are only decorated with wreaths in the colour of the Russian flag,” the article reads.
According to Tayga.info, a lot of the names on the crosses that the journalists were able to verify had not been previously mentioned in the official statements about the losses in the war in Ukraine.
Last week, two burial sites for Wagner Group mercenaries were discovered near Irkutsk, east Russia, by journalists of Siberian news website Lyudi Baikala.
At the beginning of April, BBC News Russian discovered that seven cemeteries designated for Wagner Group mercenaries exist across Russia and Ukraine’s occupied territories, with at least 995 people buried in them.
