Local authorities: Russia shells Kherson amid flooding evacuation

The city was earlier visited by Volodymyr Zelensky

The Russian military is shelling Kherson, says local governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

“They are targeting the river bank and the downtown,” he wrote.

Graty reports that its reporters suffered shelling near the Korabelna Square.

The evacuation of locals continues in the city after the Kakhovka HPP was destroyed. The local administration says a total of 2,198 people have been evacuated regionwide so far.

The city of Kherson was visited by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today.
