Russia unveils first Xi Jinping thought research centre outside of China

Russia has opened a Xi Jinping Thought Research Laboratory on the basis of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the first such institution created outside of China, Xinhua reports.
“It is essential for us to know and conduct deep analysis of ideas put forward by Xi Jinping, because China is our main strategic partner, main economic partner.”
“Therefore, our government needs to understand well what modern China’s ideological development foundation is to effectively work on the bilateral relations,” senior official at the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Babaev said.
According to him, the laboratory will publish a monograph that will introduce Xi Jinping’s ideas and their significance for China’s development and for Russian-Chinese relations to Russian readers, including representatives of the Russian authorities.
The lab’s research will focus on Xi Jinping’s ideas in the areas of economy, foreign and domestic policy, as well as social policy, culture, arts, and ecology.
Babaev said that the policies based on Xi Jinping’s ideas will shape China’s activities for a long time in the future.
