Three people were killed and 12 were injured in overnight Russian missile strikes on the city of Selydove in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office said on Wednesday.
Russian forces first struck a five-storey apartment block in the city late on Tuesday evening, partially destroying the building and injuring six people. A second missile struck a hospital, killing three and injuring a further six.

Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin said that 149 patients were evacuated to other hospitals in the region, and that nine apartment buildings, commercial premises and multiple cars were also damaged in the attack.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal investigation into the strike.
Selydove, in the west of the largely Russian-occupied Donetsk region, remains in the hands of Ukrainian forces. Russian troops also shelled the town in November, killing two.
