Russia has struck Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, with drones overnight, injuring six people, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote Sunday.

Kharkiv, a city in eastern Ukraine just 35 kilometres from the Russian border, has been under near-constant shelling since the start of the Russian invasion.

Ukrainian Air Force commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported Sunday that Ukraine had downed 23 out of 24 Iranian-made Shahed drones launched from Russia’s Kursk region and the occupied Crimea.

The drones targeted the Kharkiv region, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions in southeastern Ukraine.
