Ukraine launches large-scale attack on multiple Russian regions, Engels oil depot ablaze, fires reported at facilities in Saratov and Kazan
More than 200 UAVs and other airborne targets were shot down over Russian territory on the night of Jan. 14, according to a report by the Telegram channel Shot, citing unnamed sources. The attack on Russia reportedly included drones such as the PD-2, Bobr, Lyutyi, UJ-22 models, as well as five ATACMS missiles.
Reports of explosions have been observed in the Saratov, Tambov, Rostov, Oryol, Tula, and Voronezh regions, as well as in Tatarstan.
According to a report by 164.ru, the drone attack sparked a fire at an oil depot in Engels, which had already been attacked on Jan. 8, causing a fire that burned for several days and was only extinguished on Jan. 13. The publication reported another fire at another facility in Saratov near an oil refinery run by the state-owned oil giant Rosneft. Issues with the city's water supply in Engels were also noted after the attack.
